So.
Rob, Zayne and sidecar motorcycles in Portugal
Setting up Gusto Motorbikes and Sidecar Adventures has allowed us to share our passion with everyone by creating tailored motorbike and motorbike with sidecar adventures for all – young or old, biker or non-biker, able-bodied or disabled.
We have discovered the beauty of this region riding set tracks and organised events in the Portuguese motorcycling calendar. It has allowed to see so much more of the country, and the potential it offers for fantastic biking experiences, on two and three wheels.
Rob has decades of experience in operating and training on machines of all kinds – from high speeds boats, to gyrocopters, to motorbikes. As a retired Lt Colonel in the British Royal Marines with an MBE, he chose to take up sidecars when his daughter started crêche, as he didn’t see why he should give up on motorcycles as his chosen mode of travel. He has lived in several country across Europe.
Zayne is an international brand designer who has worked and lived in several countries around the world, and came to riding motorcycles later in life… but why not? Riding motorcycles with sidecars fulfilled her love of team sports and working together to achieve a goal.
We moved to Portugal in 2018 because it was time for a change, and we’re so pleased we did it.
Fresh start, here we go.
Setting up a sidecar business isn’t the obvious choice, but with so much experience and passion to share it felt like the right thing to put our energy into. To build another aspect into world of motorcycling and to share the experience is really satisfying.
We love pushing skills on the rallies with the maxi trails, and venturing out on long distances journeys, as much as we do riding to the shops via the scenic route and taking people out for sidecar adventures, because they’ve never been in one before!
Change is good, and we’re always looking for and finding new ways to move our adventures, business and lifestyle forward. We call it Gusto life.
